Tembria Server Monitor - Customizing E-mail Notifications
Customizing E-mail Notifications
Tembria Server Monitor's E-mail notifications are template-based and completely
customizable. We include three default templates for e-mail notifications.
You can customize the existing templates or add new ones that you design yourself.
HTML-Formatted Notifications
By default notifications are sent in formatted HTML messages that are
easy to read. You can customize the template by editing the HTML to
change the colors, add new wording and even add new fields that extract
information about the event and the device that it is associated with.
Text-Only Notifications
Depending on your e-mail client, text-only notifications may be more
convenient so Tembria Server Monitor includes a text-only template.
To specify the text-only template just add "(Text)" after the e-mail
address of the recipient. For example, "support@tembria.com (Text)".
The text-only template is also customizable and you can easily edit
to change formatting and add new event fields.
Compact Notifications
Our compact template is designed for mobile devices such as Blackberries,
cell phones and other handheld devices. It includes length specifiers
that ensure the resulting message will fit on the screen of your device.
You can adjust the length of each field to exactly fit the dimensions of your
mobile device.
To specify the text-only template just add "(Compact)" after the e-mail
address of the recipient. For example, "support@tembria.com (Compact)".
Mix and Match
You can event mix and match notification templates so that some recipients
receive messages using one template and others use a different one. It makes
for a great way to ensure everyone is receiving notifications in their
preferred format.
