Tembria Server Monitor - Sending Voice Notifications
Sending Voice Notifications
Some events are critical and just as in real life, when a critical event happens you don't send e-mail. You get on the phone.
With a voice-enabled modem installed in the machine where Tembria Server Monitor is running you can receive calls on your cell phone or landline whenever a really critical event occurs. Each event monitor has its own notification settings so you can configure most of them to use e-mail or another basic notification and reserve the phone calls for the truly critical events like power outages, network failures and critical server failures.
Our voice notifications can be set to call different numbers depending on whether the event happens inside or outside business hours. Business hours don't mean the same thing to everyone so Tembria Server Monitor offers a 9-to-5 weekdays default but you can customize them to match your schedule.
To get started all you need is a voice-enabled modem. For easy installation we recommend a USB modem such as the Creative Modem Blaster USB edition. With a USB modem you don't need to open up a server or worry about slots. Even better, you can move easily move it to another machine which is really handy as you move Tembria Server Monitor from the evaluation phase and into your production monitoring environment.
