file event monitor
Description
May applications use log files to keep details of their activity and use. Also, some applications check to see if certain files are present or missing and take different actions based on that.

The ability is monitor specific files is an important requirement for most network administrators.

The file event monitor lets you monitor a specified file to see if it is missing, present, larger than a certains and contains or does not contain certain values.

Usage Tips
If you are responsible for a particular application that sometimes encounters an unexpected situation and writes to a log file when that occurs, you can use the file event monitor to watch for that and notify you when it occurs.

Also, sometimes applications keep log files that grow continuously and need to be periodically backed up or truncated when they reach a certain size. You can use the file event monitor to keep tabs on these files and warn you when they exceed a specified limit.
