notification preferences Overview In the mail server settings specify the address of the SMTP server that Tembria Server Monitor should use to send e-mail notifications. The server must support SMTP which is one of the most widely used mail protocols. Often the required settings can be found in the settings for the mail software that you use for sending your own e-mail. In the e-mail formatting section, specify e-mail address that the message will appear to come from. It is recomended that you specify an address that meets basic e-mail address validation rules because some SMTP servers will validate the contents of this field. A good example is "tembrianotifications@mysite.com" where mysite.com is replaced with the the name of your site. Note that the specified e-mail account need not actually exist. It is only used as the value which will appear in the From field of e-mail notifications. The Subject Prefix option lets you specify a value that will be inserted at the front of the subject line for all e-mail notifications. This can be handy for automatically organizing e-mail notifications in your mail reader. For example, if your mail reader support folders and rules you could define a rule which automatically moves e-mail notifications from Tembria Server Monitor into a special folder. table of contents |
