notification styles No Notification With this option selected, no notifications will be generated for the selected category. Notify on Failure Only With this option selected, notifications will be generated when the event monitor detects an unexpected condition. You can use the option to warn after only a specified number of failures in a row to avoid 'false positives'. Notify on Success and Failure With this option selected, notifications will be generated every time the event monitor runs. Notify on Success Only This option is not often used but can be useful in certain circumstances when the successful completion of an event monitor is more important than its failure. Notify on State Change Only This option generates notifications only when the event monitor makes the transition from success to failure or from failure to success. It works on a device by device. For example, if an event monitor is associated with 5 devices and one of them goes into an error state, a notification for that device will be generated. When that device returns to a success state, a notification will be generated again. Escalation of Notifications Using Tembria Server Monitor you can easily configure your event monitors to escalate notifications as the number of failures in a row increases. For example, you can select to write to the event history every time the event monitor fails but only send you e-mail after it has failed 5 times in a row. table of contents |
