Getting Started - Adding Event Monitors
Adding Event Monitors
Event monitors are tasks that run and check your network devices for the conditions that you select. Tembria Server Monitor includes over 45 types of event monitors, each one specializing in a particular type of monitoring. For example, you can use our Drive Space event monitor to watch the available space multiple machines and warn you if any of them have exceeded limits that you select.
To add an event monitor, right-click on the "Event Monitors" item in the tree, or on an event monitor subgroup, and choose the option to add an event monitor.
Event Monitor Chooser
A list of all available event monitors will appear. Select the event monitor you want to use. A description of what it does will appear on the righthand side. Press the OK button to add the event monitor and then you can select the event monitor settings.
The event monitor list is organized into groups based on the type of work they do.
One Event Monitor, Many Devices
Unlike other products, with Tembria Server Monitor you can set one event monitor to check many devices. You can select the devices by entering their names or you can use our Device Chooser to just select them with just a few clicks.
Also with the device chooser you can assign an event monitor to a device group. Then when the event monitor runs it will check all of the devices in the group. Drop new device in the group and they'll be checked automatically the next time the event monitor runs.
Browsing Event Monitors
It's often handy to spend some time browsing through the list of event monitors. You'll likely find new interesting new ways to keep track of critical network and server resources.
