Getting Started - Reports
About Reports
Once your event monitors have been running a for while you'll want to get an overview of
how your monitoring options are going. Tembria Server Monitor offers a variety of
reports to help you look at your monitoring configuration from multiple angles.
Another option is to send e-mail when something goes wrong. E-mail notifications are the workhorses of
server monitoring solutions and are usually the best way of letting you know when there is an issue that
needs to be addressed. You can send e-mail notifications to multiple recipients. By default, HTML-formatted
messages are set but you can also select text-only notifications or compact notifications for your
cell phone or other mobile device.
Report Types
Summary reports provide a high-level view of monitoring operations. A pie chart shows success/failure
rates for the selected time period and summary of the notifications that have been sent is included.
A list shows the event monitors that have had the most failures and a similar section shows the devices
that have had the most failures. A list of recent notifications is included so that you can see the
cause of the failures.
The network device reports list all of the devices that were being monitored in the selected period
in a table that also shows the number of monitoring actions for each. Additional columns show the
success and failure counts along with a percentage showing the success ratio.
