snmp up time event monitor Description The SNMP Up Time event monitor uses the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to connect to remote devices, check how long they have been running and warn if they have been restarted. Note that this event monitor can also be used to monitor computers running Windows and other operating systems. SNMP is supported by Windows NT, 2000, XP and 2003, although it is an optional component. To enable SNMP on Windows, go to the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel then select the Add/Remove Windows Components option on the left. There you'll find an option to install SNMP support. table of contents |
