tcp port event monitor
Description
The TCP port monitor allows you to check to see if a network device is accepting requests on a defined TCP port. Different services use different ports. For example, HTTP web servers typically use port 80.

Usage Tips
If you have network services or applications that you wish to monitor and you know the port number that they use, you can setup one or more TCP port event monitors to monitor their availability.

If Tembria Server Monitor offers an event monitor specifically for a particular network service it is recommended that you use it instead of a TCP port event monitor since the TCP port event monitor offers only basic checking of port accessibility.

If you would like to see a specific event monitor added to Tembria Network Monitor, please contact us and we'll let you know if it is already under development and planned for a future release. Tembria also develops custom event monitors to serve the needs of clients with particular requirements.
